What we did

A customer based in Chislehurst called us as one of their IP CCTV cameras had stopped showing a live image. We tested the cat cable first and finally took down the camera and tested it directly on the NVR. The NVR would not detect the camera so as it was 5 years old we suggested an upgrade to a newer version of the same camera. The new camera was exactly the same style as the old one but had new features such as HikVision’s Acusense and also recorded audio whereas the old one didn’t.

After fitting and testing the camera we upgraded the firmware to the latest version and also the latest versions for the NVR and rear camera to bring them up to date.

In the settings of the NVR we enabled the audio feature and also adjusted other settings for better framerate and less bandwidth.

After testing the new camera on the Hik Connect app it was all as good as new.
