Willow Fire & Security completed an annual AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) maintenance inspection at a large residential block of flats in Croydon, ensuring the smoke ventilation system remained safe, compliant, and fully operational.
The service included testing of smoke vent windows, inspection and testing of manual smoke vent call points, and verification of correct operation of head of stair AOVs. Both manual and automatic activation methods were used to confirm reliable opening and closing of vents. Control panels, indications, and system resets were checked as part of the inspection.
During the service, two faulty window actuators were identified. These were replaced following the maintenance visit, restoring full operation to the affected smoke vents. After replacement, the AOV system was retested and confirmed to be operating correctly.
The system was left in normal working condition, supporting ongoing fire safety compliance and managing agent requirements for the building.
