Willow Fire and Security carried out a full test and service of the Automatic Opening Ventilation (AOV) system at this block of flats in Ilford, East London.
First we carried out a load test of the backup batteries in the main panel. We then manually tested each override switch to activate the AOV and make sure each window and louvre opened. During testing we discovered an issue with one switch which wasn’t working. We fixed the issue and made sure the system functioned after.
We tested the activation of the AOV from the link between the fire alarm assuring that when the fire alarm activates in a certain area, the local vent opens.
Regular testing of your AOV system is critical to ensure your system is functioning in case of a fire.
